Approximately between 1503 and 1519 Leonardo da Vinci painted 'Monalisa'. It is currently located in the Louvre Museum in Paris, the French capital. Although there are thousands of paintings in the Louvre museum, the interest of the visitors is the most surrounded by this painting. There is so much crowds that it becomes a matter of luck to take a picture behind 'Monalisa'.

Number two on the list is Leonardo da Vinci. The painting "The Last Supper" at the Santa Maria delle Grizzi Museum in Milan, Italy is thought to have been drawn between 1495 and 1498. The table depicting the last meal that Jesus Christ took with his disciples before the crucifixion was depicted in this painting of 28 decimals 9 feet wide and 15 feet high.

In 1889 Vincent van Gogh painted 'The Starry Night'. Currently, one has to visit the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, USA.
4. The Scream

According to a blog in the British Museum, 'The Scream' is not a combination of two paintings. The artwork, painted by Advent Manch in 1893, can be seen at the Stage Museum in Oslo, Norway, until May 2020. It will then be housed in the Oslo National Museum.

The most recent painting on this list is Pablo Picasso's 'Goernica'. The artwork, painted in 1937, has been found at the Museo Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, Spain. This is an echo of the German bombings in the town of Goernica during the Spanish Civil War. It was removed to the Museum of Modern Art in New York during World War II. Pablo Picasso requested that the painting not be restored until democracy was restored to Spain.

Gustav Klimt drew between 1907 and 1908, The Kiss. It is located in the Upper Belvedere Museum in Vienna, Austria. All of Klimt's paintings are for sale at great prices, but 'The Kiss' is not for sale.

Johannes Vermeer's 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' is at the Mauritius Museum in The Hague, Netherlands. This painting, painted in 1665, is often compared to 'Monalisa'. During the renovation of the Mauritius Museum from 2012 to 2014, 'Girl with a Pearl Earring' toured the United States, Italy and Japan.
